After we finished making and decorating the cookies, Madelyn and Jake started playing together. After a bit, Madelyn and Jake came back to where Margaret and I were, and Madelyn said, "Okay, Mommy, you say 'no room here' after I say 'knock. knock.'" So, here's how it went:
Madelyn: Knock. Knock
Me: No room here.
Madelyn (walking over to Margaret): Knock. Knock.
Margaret: No room here.
Madelyn (back to me): Knock. Knock. Do you have any room?
Me (catching on): No, but you can stay in my stable.
Madelyn and Jake ran off to the the "stable" as Mary and Joseph to act out the Nativity scene. It was so cute and they came up with the idea completely on their own. Here are some pictures:
