New York City Day 3, Part 1

On Monday morning, we went to Liberty Island and Ellis Island. It was sooooo windy, which made it a little difficult to walk around and enjoy it, but we made the best of it. The kids were very excited and liked the ferry ride over to Liberty Island. I had been to the Statue of Liberty before, but I appreciated more this time. It really is an amazing structure, and the Lady looks so proud and firm, like she is proud of and ready to defend our great country.

Here are a few close ups with the older kids (Isabel was not in the mood to be still) and one just of the statue:

Then, we got back on the ferry and headed over to Ellis Island. We only stayed on Ellis Island for about 30 minutes. Madelyn enjoyed a brief history lesson, but the other kids were struggling.

Here are some pictures from the ferry ride from Liberty Island to Ellis Island:

Freedom Tower:

I just love this picture. It's almost like the Statue of Liberty is watching over the building of Freedom Tower. It just makes me proud:

Isn't she lovely?:
