Now you tell me...
While listening to the radio this afternoon, I heard a news update stating, "New studies released today find that women should gain less weight during pregnancy than previous guidelines suggested." Say what?!?! She then went on to say this applies to women who are overweight when they get pregnant...whew!

Home Alone
The kids are with their grandparents (my in-laws). I think I had a harder time leaving them than they did staying. I've refrained from calling--don't want to upset the flow--and I haven't heard anything. So, I'm assuming all is well. Yesterday, JD worked most of the day, and I started packing. I was pretty efficient. I packed 5 boxes. Our china and crystal and most of our kitchen dishes are packed. Our walls are also pretty bare. It's going to be a rainy day here today, so I think I'll tackle a few more things, like books and DVDs, today. Happy Tuesday!

Kidless for a few days
Today we're going to visit my in-laws and we're leaving the kids there until next Friday. What am I going to do with myself? My goal is to start packing for our move. Hopefully, I'll stay motivated for this task. It's hard to think about it when it's still two months away, but I feel that if I do a bit at a time, it won't be quite as overwhelming. Maybe??? Madelyn is so excited about her visit with Nana and Granddaddy and I think Pierce will do great, especially since Madelyn will be there with him. It's also good timing because JD thinks he will incredibly busy next week preparing for trial, so I might have the house all to myself for a few days. Will I enjoy the silence or will I be bored out of my mind?

Disney World/Gatorland Trip
We are back from our vacation, and we had a great time! We went to Disney World three days and ventured to Gatorland (Orlando's finest half-day attraction) for a morning. We had pretty good weather, although it did rain on our last evening at the Magic Kingdom. Some notable things from the trip: Madelyn became unsure of rides that "tickled her tummy." She refused to ride Splash Mountain, but we did convince her to ride Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. Pierce has an uncanny ability to see elephants everywhere he goes. You'd be amazed how many elephants are around Disney World. We were able to see Mr. and Mrs. Incredible at Hollywood Studios. It was like Pierce was meeting rock stars. He couldn't take his eyes off of them. He refered to them as Mr. Incredible and the mommy. I commented to JD that his is how he views us--JD = Mr. Incredible; Me=mommy. Gatorland was pretty interesting and the kids had a good time. Being surrounded by hundreds of alligators, even when you know you're safe, can be unnerving. They also had 4 or 5 white alligators that were found in Louisiana. Those were pretty cool looking.

Happy Mother's Day!
We had a great day today at the Magic Kingdom! The crowds weren't too bad, and we were able to ride everything we wanted. The kids had a great time, and so did the adults. A day at the Magic Kingdom is a pretty great way to spend Mother's Day. Oh, and poor JD, he had to tell me that he ordered me flowers for Mother's Day. He went to the trouble of setting up a delivery to our vacation house, but they didn't come. When he called to complain, the lady apologized and promised they would be delivered tomorrow with a special "apology card." Oh well, I really did feel it was the thought that counted, and I'll (hopefully) get some beautiful flowers tomorrow. Happy Mother's Day to all.

20-week Check-up
I'm (un)officially half-way through my pregnancy. I had my 20-week check-up today, and other than avoiding looking at the scale, it was an uneventful visit. We are heading to Disney World in a few days (Sshhhhh!!! Don't tell. Madelyn and Pierce don't know.), and I thought I should ask the doctor about what rides I couldn't ride. He told me his best advice (after informing me that he loves Disney World) was to take my doctor with me so that he can advise me about each ride :-) Then he got kinda serious and said that I should avoid anything with sudden jerking movements or stops and fast speeds. While I didn't expect or intend to ride the Tower of Terror I was hoping for a trip through Splash Mountain. I asked him about that and he said that the stopping motion at the bottom of the hill might be a bit too jerky. Soooo, it would appear that I'm destined for lots of It's a Small World and Spaceship Earth. That's okay, though. I'm still looking forward to it, and it's all about the kids, right:-)
